Are you on a student visa, aged 16 years or older and studying in Sydney?

We want to hear your thoughts and experiences of sexual and reproductive health information and services by participating in FocusGroup Discussion on 25 May 2019 or 1 June 2019 at 11am – 1pm.

NSW: Youth week in Sydney. International Students invited to assist with planning.

Dear Students,
We are seeking interested and skilled students to join a planning committee for Intercultural Sports Day, one of many Youth Week events.

Youth Week is an opportunity for young people to express their ideas and views, act on issues that affect their lives, and create and enjoy activities and events.

Intercultural Sports Day will be held on Friday 12 April 2019 from 3pm – 9pm at the King George V Recreation centre in the Rocks. It will be heaps of fun with activities, sport, food and opportunity to meet your peers from all universities and colleges in Sydney! If you have talent, interest, skills, enthusiasm and commitment – we want you!

We need students who can assist in the following areas:
· Project management
· Event planning
· Graphic design
· Advertising and promotions – online, social media, print

We will have teams of students in various event planning specialisations. It will look great on
your resume and you get to make new friends.

NSW: City of Sydney’s Lord Mayor’s Welcome for International Students – 11 April 2019

Newly arrived international students are invited to the City of Sydney’s Lord Mayor’s Welcome for International Students on 11 April 2019. This is a special annual event hosted by Lord Mayor Clover Moore to welcome newly arrived international students and celebrate their contributions to the cultural life and diversity of Sydney.

Each year, about 1,000 international students gather at Sydney Town Hall to connect with their fellow students, cultures and essential services in Sydney.

Many of you have been very involved with the event in the past to help promote social inclusion, safety and wellbeing, and introduce students to local Aboriginal cultures and inspiring guest speakers.

We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to invite your newly arrived international students to come join us. Tickets are free and limited and will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. The event and booking details are:

NSW Police in partnership with the Council of International Students Australia (CISA) completed a Study NSW co-funded Partner Project to create safety videos for international students studying in NSW.

These videos have been well-received by the international education community.

The videos cover topics such as identifying police in NSW, reporting crime, beach safety, alcohol, road safety, domestic and family violence and personal safety.
