AEI International Student Data YTD July 2008
AEI has released the July 2008 statistics on international students studying in Australia on student visas. AEI’s latest data show that across all education sectors, international student enrolments in Australia have grown 18.9 per cent.
New student visa Assessment Levels (ALs) will come into effect from
Monday 1 September 2008.
Applications lodged prior to 1 September 2008 -
Applicants who have lodged valid applications prior to 1 September 2008
will not be affected by the Assessment Level changes. Their applications
will continue to be assessed at the Assessment Level which was in effect
at time of lodgement.
Expressions of interest for Australia-China workshop on international student management and services (National Office)
AEI China is seeking nominations for speakers at a joint AEI China and Chinese Ministry of Education Workshop on International Student Management and Services on 26th-28th October 2008 in Shanghai. Internationalisation of China’s education institutions is one of the top priorities for the Ministry of Education which regards Australia as a leader in this field.
The Institute for Study Abroad – Butler University (IFSA-Butler) is an international not for profit organization providing quality study abroad program for US university students in Australia. An opportunity exists for a highly motivated, tertiary qualified person with strong organizational skills and a proven track record in administration management in the tertiary sector.
Reporting to the Director Australian Programs, the position is responsible for enrolment management and providing structured programs for arrivals, orientations, housing, counselling, critical incidents, acculturation, adventure weekends and farewells for study abroad participants.
Salary package for the position is $70k - $75k plus 9% superannuation and 17%leave loading. Parking is also available. IFSA-Butler has a policy of performance based annual bonuses and a three month probationary period.
