Child Protection Training

Description: The session will provide child protection training as required by Blue Card Services for any institutions who teach students under the age of 18. The training will be provided by Jim O’Brien from In Safe Hands and will include the following learning outcomes:
- Definition of child abuse;
- Types of child abuse;
- Indicators of child abuse;
- Early Intervention and Prevention tools;
- Federal, State and Civil laws pertaining to child protection and civil liability;
- Child Protection requirements under relevant National Quality Frameworks;
- Reporting of child abuse;
- Managing disclosures;
- Recording and documenting.
Participates will receive certification from In Safe Hands for having completed training on the above learning outcomes
