ESOS Consumer Protection Project is funded by DEEWR. It is due for completion by June 2008. This project will be based on a series of short videos and is aimed at helping international students to fully understand their rights and their responsibilities throughout the WHOLE process of becoming and being a student of the Australian education system. The video’s will be short (60-120 sec) animations intended to highlight both the student’s rights and their responsibilities as they work their way through the processes. The videos will be readily accessible by students, agents, parents, institutions and the general public via the world wide web, through an ISANA web link , and also most likely via an NLC web link. Because the intention is to have this information readily and publicly available, it may be accessed from anywhere in the world via the web, at any point of enquiry, by parents, agents, potential students, etc. Once publicly available, institutions may wish to utilise one topic or several during their own dealings with students, agents, orientations, or even mid-semester reminders etc. Each topic will be downloadable.
