Student Advisor
 
Monash College Pty Ltd is a wholly owned company of Monash University. Established in 1994, our business provides quality educational services in strategic partnership with Monash University.
 
The Student Life team is a key element of the company's support services unit. Working closely with all stakeholders, the team aims to support students of all programs within MCPL. The primary functions of the team consist of Student Advisory, Counselling Service, Student Programs and Arrival Services. These functions combine to enhance the students' overall experience at Monash College in close collaboration with Academic teams, Student Administration and various support areas of Monash University. The team of Student Advisors work across all campuses (Clayton, Caulfield and Peninsula) to ensure they are accessible to all students.
 
The Student Advisor is responsible for  providing effective support to students via the studen t advisory function, through regular service reviews, enhancement of support strategies/policies/procedures and development of new initiatives.
 
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
 
. Experience within a student advisory or similar role
. Post secondary education qualifications in areas such as Psychology, Counselling or Social Work
. Demonstrated experience in event management
. Solid case management expertise
. Ability to develop community networks within the student body
. Appreciation and understanding of the diversity of ethnic cultures of international students
. Ability to develop rapport with students and an approachable and friendly demeanour
. Excellent written and oral communication skills
. Demonstrated ability to work with a team approach
. Strong knowledge of legislative regulations that govern the tertiary sector and international education ind ustry, i.e. ESOS and National Code
 
Competence in another language and a tertiary qualification within International Education or International Studies related field will be considered favourably
 
Base salary range: $52,241-$57,466 (depending upon skills & experience) plus 17% superannuation
 
Location: Clayton - travel to other campuses will be required
